Statement
Mission driven, with a strong focus on projects, my deepest joy comes from translating the rich beauty I see and feel around me into shared experience. Whether through the music I write, the performance of materials written by others, helping an artist or business find their audience or simply cooking a meal for friends and family, it is this through line of expression that propels me and everything I do.
My life is my canvas, and my work is an endless collaboration between my perception and my ability to articulate. While my primary expression comes through my voice, I shamelessly create with any materials at my disposal. The landscape, a well-laid table, a lullaby sung to a tired child, the curation of an art exhibition, or the crafting of a marketing plan - all of these have found their way into my hands and heart. All of these are my art.
In addition to ongoing curation and installation projects in Santa Fe, I am currently in the studio recording an album of original music with an array of award winning musicians. I am in the process of arranging tour dates for us to share the music live across the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
Bio
Bitten by the jazz bug in the cradle, this California native has performed for audiences from Japan to Mexico, taking a break from live performance after becoming a mom in 2001. Longing to integrate music and motherhood, Keating started the California Lifestyle New Media Magazine, EncinoMom, where she appeared in the California Living episodes produced for the magazine, conducting more than 300 interviews and video stories before moving to New Mexico in 2015.
Since moving to Santa Fe, Keating has performed at fine art galleries, on Sky Railway's jazz train, at NDI, and given concerts at Entropy, El Farol, The Performance Space and San Miguel Chapel. She returned to California to create the role of Activist Ivy Botini in the world premiere of Inclusivity, a play by Alvin Schnupp with original music contributed by Keating.
Keating is a dynamic performer on and off stage. Currently, she serves the Santa Fe art community in the role of Executive Director of the Santa Fe Gallery Association. She is a tireless advocate for artists, gallerists and the art community here, speaking on panels, hosting tours, talks and traveling to share the importance of art.
